Firehouse Angel Presentation Photos

Hi Guys, I have uploaded three of the photos that Linda sent me -- they are in the Firehouse Angel album at Webshots. They are blurry but at least you can get a fair idea of what everyone looks like. I'm not sure but I

*think* Heather is in the light blue top and Linda is in the reddish coral top. Sorry if I am wrong but neither of those two brats bothered to tell me what they looked like or what they were wearing!!!!! Linda did tell me who the guys were in the photos but I'm soo tired right now I am sort of rummy and I don't want to take the time to go back and forth between the e-mail and the album to get all the names down. Tomorrow, when I am rested, I will add names, etc. if I have it. HMMM

-- Linda might well have told me which one of the two she is but I just don't remember. Anyway, enjoy the photos. As I receive better pics, I will post them. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Unfortunately, that link is missing by personal choice. I'm sure the "powers that be" had a good reason for this but I sure as heck can't figure out what it was! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Hi Tia Mary and everyone else!

Tia Mary is right that I (Heather) am in the blue shirt and Linda was wearing red. I'll be emailing Tia Mary my photos as soon as I can find or buy another cable from my camera. I think it might be time to invest in one of those card readers... :) The presentation went wonderfully. I was amazed at how much time the guys spent in taking really detailed up close looks at her. They were all grateful that "people out there still remember" and incredibly touched. You should have seen the jaw drop on one of them when my dh was asked how long it would have taken to do and he answered "Conservatively, in about the thousand hour range...". Stunned silence. Lunch was fantastic and the whole crew made us feel very welcome. We were also afforded an incredible honour that I don't know if Linda caught. While we were there for the presentation and lunch, their firehouse was "on diversion". Meaning any calls that would have come in to them were sent instead to other firehouses. This is very rarely done, and a huge honour to all of us. Photos to come! Heather the brat!

Now this has brought tears to my eyes! First, I didn't realize they would offer you all lunch but it makes sense. Firefighters do the job because they care about taking care of other people so they would offer a bit of food if guests were there at meal time. But to have calls diverted to another house so that these guys and the officials could take possession of the Angel is a gift to all of us that is beyond measure. The other houses had to take up the slack and I would think they did it willingly. I hope they all know that the Angel is a gift to and in memory of ALL firefighters and other rescue personnel who took care of NYC on that horrible day. For MOI, THIS one thing has made the time I spent on the Angel more than worth while. I am soooooo happy we got her Finished and presented in time for the 5th anniversary of 9/11. I hope all of the firefighters who see the Angel or even hear the story remember that their bravery has not been forgotten. The "little guys" in this country and in other countries will be eternally grateful to them for all they did for NYC! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Everytime I read one of these posts, I feel gratitude and pride. Thanks so much for sharing and letting us all know how much "she" is appreciated.

Yes, and that fits it nicely that it was presented long after the event. It shows that we just kept at it until it was done. Now THAT'S dedication.

I teared up when I read this the first time ... perhaps the deity or deities were responsible for the "delays" just so the current crop of firemen will know that 9/11 hasn't been forgotten. IOW, the Angel is even more special than originally intended.
