Firehouse Angel -- Participant List -- Presentation, etc.

Hi Guys, OK -- here is the list of names (first name, last initial) of people who STITCHED on the piece..... Tia Mary Jan ??(in U.K.) Felice F. Jenn L. Deb M. Carolyn W. Heather E. Pat L. George B. Lucille Z. Fran F. Cindy P. Joan E. Janet W. Elizabeth C. Meredith ?? Angela L. Anne T. Joanna G. Cheryl M. Linda T. Dianne L. Victoria R. (assuming this is what everyone involved agrees on). If I have forgotten anyone, PLEASE let me know, OK? Also, if you contributed supplies but didn't stitch, please let me know so that I can add your name to the list. If people don't want to put names on the finished piece, I think we should at least put our city & state -- country for Jan -- so that the firefighters can see how the piece traveled from place to place. I currently have SIX people on the list of those who will contribute money to cover the costs of framing and shipment of the Angel to whomever will be responsible for presentation to FDNY HQ. I will be sending out a group e-mail to all of you as soon as I get this post completed. Is it OK for me to assume that we all agree that FDNY Headquarters is the place to receive the finished piece? It seems the most logical to MOI. Once it is in their hands they can do with it as they see fit -- hang it there or put it in their museum, etc. Will the person who lives on Long Island (I think it was Long Island) and offered to deliver the piece PLEASE e-mail me directly -- CatWom7711 at aol dot com ?? I keep forgetting to write down your name and e-mail -- if you e-mail me directly I will have you in my e-addy book!! I'm brain dead after 10 days with the SMDGD Screechasaurus :-)! I think that covers most of the current "nuts & bolts" concerns that I have. Any further questions or suggestions -- please post, OK? CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I didn't stitch on her. I tried valiantly, but my eyesight is gone - even with magnification and extra light. I was heartbroken. I did about four rows of the wing and had to give up.

Victoria never stitched.

I have on site that Cheryl "I" stitched on her, and Cheryl "M". That could be a problem on my end.

Also on the history page: September 29: Mary S. - Georgia, received the tube and all its contents: floss, scroll rods, original chart laminated for protection. Meredith D's package arrived with beads and braid. Awaiting instructions for where to begin stitching on the project. Mary mounted the velcro and gridded the fabric.

I can vouch that Cheryl "I" did not stitch on her and because I'm an idiot, didn't get to see her in person, either.

I think there is/was another Cheryl I on the list. This Cheryl I has an issue with angels and won't stitch them. But has happily given away several angel charts.

I would have loved to see her in person though

If you stitched FOUR STITCHES, then you stitched on her so your name IS on the list :-)! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Victoria has made it quite clear on RCTN and an e-mail threat to me that she does not want her name associated with this project in any way.

She has made it quite clear in more than one period of time.

There's nothing catty about my remarks. The list was "stitchers". I merely said Victoria never stitched on her. And I mentioned to take my name off the list because I was unable to do anything useful.

You are contributing nothing positive to this thread. You are merely boiling the pot.

I had to giggle, Diane! For some reason, with your last statement I had a weird picture leap into mind! Caryn, Victoria and an "unknown third figure", all in black capes, pointy hats and green faces, dancing around a bubbling black cauldron!!

The mind does paint funny pictures sometimes!LOL.....and no, I am not smoking any funny weed, although I AM on the way to the dermatologist to get a small basal cell cancer removed, amd wish they would give me something to take away the nervousness!

Given how polite (NOT) your contribution to this thread was, I don't really think I'm the only one applying flame to the pot.

I love it. It's a perfect picture--bubble, bubble, toil and trouble lol

Good luck with the basal cell. I had one a couple of years ago and it was no big deal. I hope yours is the same.

You could try acceptance, as Victoria is doing about the possiblity that she is dying. Whatever happens, happens.

BTW, Mom did her Master's thesis in English Honor on the role of the witches in MacBeth. So if I'm one of those women I'm honored. They did predict the future and see the truth afterall.

One wonders what your definition of polite is. Dianne's posts have been pretty normal. Just because you don't like what she has to say does NOT make her posts impolite! She has posted only things that we all know to be true and has done so in perfectly acceptable language. You and Victoria are the ones causing all of the animosity and if that truth hurts it's the fault of any of us. I WILL NOT leave you alone and unchallenged in your meanness and if you continue to keep posting mean, negative things then I will continue to toss it right back at you in the nicest, most acceptable manner possible. It would be best if this horse was allowed to lay down and die peacefully. Just be aware that I shall continue to respond to all negative posts that defame people who have done nothing to warrant such treatment.

Let me ask you this....did anybody else involved with the angel have to send it on without working on it? Due to eyesight issues, or time constraints or personal stuff?

If so, then it was VERY rude of Dianne to single Victoria out. I know Vic got "nasty" with Dianne, but aren't you all supposed to be the "nice" and superior ones? Shouldn't YOU be able to rise above our (Victoria and my) level??

Obviously, not.

...like a good control freak. You must have very low expectations of character.

IIRC Victoria is the only one who had the opportunity to stitch on the piece but wasn't able and I am NOT putting any blame on her for this because any of us could have gotten ill during our turn. ALL other volunteers on this project DID stitch on the project. I believe Heather is the one who injured her wrist and had to send the piece on after only doing a few rows of stitching. Dianne did a few rows of stitching and then sent the project on because her eyesight wasn't up to the task. Another volunteer did stitch on the piece but then must have had some personal issues to deal with and it sort of got left in limbo for about six months. Dianne made a truthful statement when she said that Vic had the piece for a number of weeks and didn't stitch on it and then sent it on to the next person. It is NOT rude to tell the truth -- only the way you tell it is rude and Dianne's words were not rude. As for being "the "nice and superior ones" -- I don't think any of us have said we are nicer than another nor have we said we are superior. Perhaps that's the way you choose to perceive us. Are you sure you don't mean Dianne and myself specifically when you say this? If so, please take pride in your own opinions and the courage to say so! I'm sure I "could rise above" your level as you recommend but I choose not to. I have often posted an unpopular opinion and said I would refrain from further discussion. This time I'm not going to do that. It is my personal opinion that you and Victoria take great joy in going on and on with negative posts until everyone else is just fed up and too tired to bother responding. I'm afraid this leaves you with an unwarranted sense of power and the feeling that you have "vanquished the enemy" so to speak. If people are going to perceive me as a bully -- someone who takes over when not wanted -- then I shall be just that type of person.
