On and OT: in packing mode

I am in the panic packing mode right now. We leave on Monday for our 5 1/2 months in Florida. I've been making up some "kits" to do while there, but just found out my BFF's youngest is getting married in July, and my niece is having a baby in May - won't know whether its a boy or girl until sometime in November (this is her 3rd - were surprised for the first two). Packing clothes etc is easy, as we leave most of our "winter" stuff there, but remembering to pack all my quilty stuff is difficult. Add to that the teaching I do for the quilt group - I have to pack all my basic books, as well as some for inspiration. Thank heavens, DH is patient! Off to the bank today, laundry tomorrow, loading the car on Sunday as we leave bright and early Monday morning. The only stop we have planned is at Mary Jo's in Gastonia. (I have a short list). DS2 is coming with us, then will be flying home Nov 19th. He hasn't had a holiday is some time, and volunteered to help with the gardening, window washing etc. I won't be checking in much until the end of the month. We have to get our high-speed internet connected after we arrive!

I suppose you've done this enough to remember, Susan, but do toss in the car some dreary weather clothing. The Mississippi Coast is having what looks and feels like February - drizzly and grizzly. Barely got the hummingbirds off on their flight in time. Polly

We have "yucky weather" clothes for the first day or two of our trip, and in Central Florida, we get some cold weather after Christmas. Also we have a trip planned to Arizona in March, with a couple of nights at the Grand Canyon. I was warned that there might even be snow - so we have a variety of clothes for all occasions!
