Bob's site is still up

I have not heard a word from him an many years.

I found that one. His old site gets me a virus warning. It was the great site with all the pictures of machines in his collection and some others. I remember when he retired and was looking forward to having the time to devote to his collection and painting. I hope he's OK, and afraid that he isn't. Time gets us all in the end. Dagnabbit.

Yes I am afraid of that also. He was such a glib guy always out there that I doubt he would just not do anything toy sewing machine.

I have no idea whether this one:

originally made with a motor, but the description "Singer SewHandy Model 20-2..... MOTORIZED!! Antique Singer Sewing Machine Extremely Rare" leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

However, I may watch this one:

As far as I am aware, the Meekers are reputable, and they do have good pictures and descriptions on this page. They have one Singer 20 with a motor there, too.

The one you're watching looks to me as if it's in too good of a shape, and I would want to examine it to see if it's one of the ones Ron mentioned from Turkey. If the price doesn't go up much, though, it would be worth it anyway.

Alex Askaroff has a nice page, too.

Thanks.

I am not a SM collector just for the sake of collecting. Bit I think that little bitty Singer would be fun to have, and if it made a decent chain stitch for quick-and-dirty basting, all the better.

That one does look like the reproduction see the green felt on the base. A give away. $600.00 is WAYYY too much for even a genuine.

Great as a shelf piece but getting them to work is a trick.

Thanks Ron, I think I'll leave it alone. They are super cute, though.

Agreed! What's up with anyone buying at that price?
