help! singer 347

I have an old Singer model #347 that I bought at a thrift shop and took in for cleaning, etc. Everything was working fine, but now the needle doesn't go up and down anymore. I turn the hand wheel and nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions? (or do I need to take it in to the shop?) Thanks for your help!!

Did you wind a bobbin and forget to re-engage the clutch? Hold the hand wheel still and tighten up the inner knob abd see if that fixes things. If not, you may have a belt off, and they should be able to fix that very quickly.
