Hi and HELP!!!

Hi there,

I am new here, and I have some questions. I hope you can help me. About 1 year ago, my husband bought me the Singer Quantam Futura CE-200.Very shortly after that I severely injured my left hand, and had several surgeries. I am now at the point that I can minimally use my left hand. I really want to get back to sewing. I have had my machine on the dining room table for the year covered up. Well, I seem to have lost the instruction DVD for just the basic sewing. Did it come with one? I have the other 2 CD's for the embrodery part of the machine. I would love to get a CD with the basics of the machine. I have been sewing for 35 years, since I was a kid. But, my old faithful singer finally bit the dust. So my dear husband went out and bought the biggest and bestest machine around. He is the computer engineer, not me. So, it is a bit difficult to do even some of the most basic things on the machine. I love the machine and the stuff it will be able to do, but I need help with some of the basics.

Please if you can help me or point me in the direction to get a CD of the basics of the machine, I would really appreciate it.

I also have to give thanks for the advice that I have gotten from reading your news group. If I am welcome, I would love to become a member. I will share more later, if I can be in your group. Thanks so much.

WELCOME and QUICK healing Donna. When i got my last machine [in fact 3rd in my life] after the former went to Sewing Machine thread pastures, i met a computer with a needle ,, which really frightened me ,, I needed a strong machine to `finnish` my woven cloths. Thus got a Pfaff `Creative designer`, because that was the strongest in the shop, and i could buy the one they used for demonstartion in a more affordable price . I took time to learn it [ and there are some features i am realy not experted in ] but i love her now as i used to love the older machine, she is my extended hands to work with. Ps i am also a bit experted in learning to work again with broken fingers, arms etc ,,, If you want it you can DO it ,,,, ask foe some physio advice , Change positions , don`t do the `same work` , for more that 3 hours ,,,,,BEST OF LUCK mirjam

This is Usenet, everyone is welcome except spammers. ;-)

You can get a manual directly from Singer:

if it's new enough to be still under warrantee, maybe your dealer will order it for you? Beverly

As Beverley has said this is Usenet; anyone can post here and add their contribution. It's not a closed mailing list or Yahoo type of group.

Unfortunately, because *anyone* can post, we do get the occasional spammer and a few trolls who make quite obscene posts to try and provoke a reaction from the 'normal' people who post here. As time goes on, you may like to investigate how you can filter out some of the noise.

So true, Richarde, neither is it a "Google group" nor a "SewGirls.com" group.

Very good advice.
