How many of you would have made this pattern and not matched the design at CF?

Now, wait!! Are you telling me that you wouldn't have spent four hours playing with the pattern pieces so that your layout would match the picture??? Now you tell me?????

i'd have used a solid color to as avoid this. of course, the chances of me being able to match up the pattern are, oh, about the same as winning the lottery.

Once you get the hang of it, it becomes pretty easy and expands your fabric choices so much. Juno PS Don't forget my share of the lottery.

Nice pattern, I might consider that for the extra fabric I have from DD's skirt. Now I'm going to make her a tiered skirt. It's cut and ready to go in a brown suede cloth.

My 13-YO DGD has been riding English-style in Competition since she was very young; recently she started Barrel-Racing and loves it. Now her 3-YO sister is anxious to start riding, too. Both are taking lessons.

I do not make any clothes for their competition though. Emily

No this one is the TA. I have 1 1/2 teachers and and 1 T A. Also have a son who is a soft ware engineer. The half teacher is just waiting for the state to send her license and a teaching position so I guess you could say I have 1 teacher and 2 T A's.

Wow, thanks for sharing! But don't you think that the FMC will send out some of their Cleaners to you for blabbing out their secret? ;-)

my DD shows in the palomino and quarter horse shows, as do i. our horse is an all around...meaning he does everything from Hunter under saddle (english) to western stuff, including barrels. two years ago he was one of the top palomino barrel horses for youth. while english clothes never go out of fashion (heck, she is wearing my 25 year old breeches!), western stuff does. some if can be quite expensive (like $5000 for a jacket-yikes!) because we don't have a money tree growing in our backyard, i try to be very frugal. vests are now back "in" and many sell for $300+....I am hoping i can make some myself. Katie will "stone" them (affix crystals to them).

Horse folks do like some bling. One of my nieces trains and shows appaloosas. She's the barn manager and trainer for Black Tree Ranch in VA. This picture takes a minute to load, it's big, but this is her on All Ways Included (LB to his friends)

The picture is from when LB (with my niece's help) won the nationals for preliminary jumping in 2009. Here's some of the other horses

I wish there was a bigger picture of "Something Fierce." (Hippity Hop) He's a hoot. He's also HUGE for an appaloosa. I got to go see her and Hippity Hop this past summer because the show was really close to us. (keep in mind the 16 1/2 hands measurement listed on the website was over a year ago when he was still only 1!!! He's taller now (like closer to 17 hands and a little bit) and he's not done growing yet. He was born on Easter morning, hence his barn name. lol I told my niece when she needs new show gear, to call me. I would really love to sew for her. Those look like really fun things to work on!!

Sharon--gorgeous gorgous appies!!! my first horse what a buckskin with blanket app...he was the best horse that ever walked on thsi planet . I had to euthenize him due to lameness issues in 1993. i still miss him!

western bling show stuff IS fun! i'm not the caliber of sewing talent that can accomplish it (though, i'm gonna try!) I will tell you there is money to be made in it...especially if you are good at fitting people. Fit is so very very VERY important to breed show folk.
