Happy Thanksgiving!

To all you U.S.A. sewists and sewist-wannabes, have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Oh, is that today? Well then, a happy Thanksgiving Day!

U. - not sure what exactly this is about. I vaguely remember that it's a bit different from the German church holiday Thanksgiving which is the last Sunday in September and is about saying grace for the harvest.

Thanks!

It's a (mostly secular) celebration day of folks gathering to eat delicious food and enjoy the company of family and friends, while being grateful for Nature's bounty:

Big harvest feast - Canada's Thanksgiving is ~month earlier - coincides with the USA Columbus Day Holiday. The USA Thanksgiving has given Canadians a special ** cross-border-shopping day ** Bus trips & campers in shopping mall parking lots .. doing their Christmas shopping .. so I hear (?) ... dunno. Iccky has it wrong on her "mostly secular" characterization re: celebration of Thanksgiving and "being grateful" for Nature's bounty. Grateful to whom? The Rain Gods? Looks like she's fallen in behind Obama, who omitted reference to God in his "Thanksgiving Message". JPBill
