velvet is washable if you hang dry, at least in my experience (with cotton, silk & nylon (rayon?) velvet. the nylon is most apt to go wonky)
yup. had that happen to my favorite sherpa lined suede vest... it was still dirty looking, but they made the leather stiff & smelly.
even in business suits i think it's poor construction/materials. it's more difficult to properly
*press* a business suit at home, so that part may make dry cleaning seem attractive. lee
