Lining Silk

Hi, I'm new to this group and a new sewer. Can someone tell me whether I can line a Silk robe with flannel?

Dear Karen,

You can line a garment with anything you want. The question should be, "How am I going to clean it?" If both fabrics have been prewashed and there's no shrinkage expected, go ahead. I'm assuming you're thinking flannel for warmth. If you plan to machine wash it, the lining should be attached in several places to keep it from tangling when it's washed and dried.
