Looking for pattern for workout wear

Oct 03, 2007 5 Replies

I just received a shipment from Rockywoods fabric (NAYY) of wickaway pique in 3 luscious colors (mint, dusty ble, dusty lilac ) plus a smooth black lycra blend for pants/shorts and a pink lycra blend. I intend to make tank tops and shorts for working out in. These outfits cost a bundle in the stores ($40 pr. piece). What I haven't found is a good pattern. I have seen Kwik-Sew's yoga pants and leotards but I am not too crazy about the skin-tight look. Any ideas out there? I am thinking about using a regular tank-top pattern and modifying it with some color blocking but they don't usually have any shaping in them (like darts). Any help is appreciated!

Have you looked at Jalie patterns

Thanks Juno, I looked at their patterns. They have some nice gymnastics leotards for the girls. Unfortunately all their workout wear is skin tight and I just don't have the bod for skin tight. I will keep looking.

Have a look at a New Look pattern #6265.

Thanks Melinda, that is looking more like it. I will have to check out there other patterns too.

've never used Stretch-&-Sew, but many here have, and like them IIRC.
