My favorite winter coat ` pattern is called Desert coat ,, i have made 3 one with a hood ,, it is cut in one or 3 pieces [ depends on width of wool ,, One i made with a mathching skirt , even now after wearing it almost

17 years , it still looks a great nice ensamble ,,, the skirt looks a bit like she a bit tired [ cat helped to do that as well ] ,,,, i highly recommend that style of coat ,, mirjam

Do you have a picture of this coat or a site we can see it or the pattern? Desert coat just doesn't ring a bell.

You may know it as a Bedouin Coat ,, i can send you a drawing , if you send me you email mirjam

Bedouin coat doesn't ring a bell either unless it's pretty much like one of those shapeless somewhat oversize type garments the Arabs wear when seen on tv.

Maybe like the Moroccan Burnoose shown here?

'm too chicken to try to alter them to fit me, though. The Kowloon coat theoretically comes in my size, but I would want to narrow the shoulder to fit mine better.

Is yours similar to the one which Folkwear sells the patterns? I seem to recall the name. Emily

No no it doesn`t look like a kowloon either ,, mirjam

By the way , quite some weaving books have great patterns , you can easily sew ,, mirjam

I didn't think it did, Mirjam. It's just that that one picture reminded me of the Kowloon Coat, which I have drooled over for years.
