Not doing `THE OBVIOUS`

I love cloth with some interest , thus no wonder that a side woven or printed sripe that goes on one self side is alway attracting my eyes ,, I have been taught , and read many times, that those stripes should than go to the Buttom , and i did so in my first attempts at making neat skirts and nighties , that it occured to me that i don`t know why i do it ,,,, One time before an Exhibition opening which i curated , and thus Noblesse Obliges me to dress up Nice!!! i was looking for some neat thing, that won`t knock open my purse,,,, thus walked the shops and found a piece of cotton , which print reminds one partly of block printing partly ikat ,, i made the skirt with the darker print at one edge , but also cut a shirt with the dark edge on front upper joke. For other diffferent shirts i cut the striped edge and turn it into sleeves , neck opening embelishments , pockets etc,,, I even used wide frayed edges as sleeve edges ,, every cloth is looked at and checked for possibilities !!!! mirjam
