Party favors

Does anyone have any suggestions for party favors for a tea party for my girl (age 4). I was thinking the tie type hand bag like the bag in simplicity 4115. I'll make a smaller version of that fit for a toddler. Shouldn't take me more than a couple of dollars each.

Any other ideas? I could very well make other stuff but sewing is my new hobby and I love it :)

Thats a great idea! How about a pencil or crayon and a mini paper pad (post its!) for inside? You could also sew hair bows for each of them, or scrunchies, stuff like that.

Wild Ginger - Wild Things has a bag sort of like that. The program is free to download from the wild ginger site. I use it all the time, no viruses or anything. With that program you can enter in the measurements, click and print. (NAYY of course, just a satisfied user)

HTH,

have a fun party!

In Australia 4 year olds like stickers - not sure if you call them that in the States. They're little pictures with a sticky back that come on sheets. Here kids like putting them everywhere. Just about every surface in our home has them!! They're cheap and a great alternative to sweets.

They are called stickers in Canada, so probably too in the USA. I know all kids love them!

Have you seen the really big "re-stickable" ones that are used a decorations? I love those! Places like walmart, zellers, etc sell them in a package with matching stick-on border to help make a theme for the room (kids only, like pooh and disney princess)

I sent some to a girl in Indonesia once - they had never seen anything like them.

I was going to suggest toddler-sized tea cozies for their play teapots, but the hand bag is such a cute idea. Sigh, my 4-year-old is into Superman and X-wing fighters. Little boys are so different...

Have fun with the favors!!

true - they also hadn't made it yet to rural Egypt so when I sent my exSIL some she was thrilled beyond expectation (she was 16 at the time LOL) last time I was there I saw she had in fact saved them to use in her house after she had married - they were used as decoration in the kitchen!
