Butterick 4928 Kay
I have it, and the book with several different jackets, using the pattern from Indygo Junction, but I've forgotten the designer's name. Emily
Butterick 4928 is an almost replica of the "topper" as they were called in the 1940, that DM made for me when I was a teen. I loved that coat, it was a cranberry wool, lined with a silk of black & cranberry design. I just bought this pattern to make myself another as much like that one as possible. Over the years, I have developed an allergy to wool, so it will be made of gabardine, lined with cotton. Oh well, a person can't have everything. Emily
Thanks to everyone! i think i'm going to go with the Butterick 4928, i can adjust the collar to be smaller, and use a frog closure at the neck. i have some boucle' in chocolate colors i think will be pretty. I also have some white wool. A big button at the top maybe? amy
