Pleated skort

I have just competed drafting a yoke for the skort I'm going to make DGD, and when I checked the layout for the bias yoke, I discovered I have enough fabric remaining to cut three widths for the pleats, so I have enough to "pleat to the sett" (this fabric is from my stash). And, I'll be able to locate the seams *under* the pleats. And, I can run the length of the pleats long enough to show three full setts lengthwise below the yoke, too. YEAH!!!! ;-) Now, just have to fire up the steam-press....

In case you don't remember, I'm replicating:

Yee Haw! Way to go! Grandma rides again! ;) You gotta post pix when this is done - I need to see how you do it! :)

Good idea, I took some pics with the digital camera. I am going to be putting an invisible zip in the center back of the yoke which is plaid cut on the *bias*! We'll see how that goes, I have it cut out with the matched design each side of CB.

Wow.... That will truly be an amazing skort when it's done. Can't wait for the pictures. Just do me a favor and thump yourself on the forehead every now again. Makes the eyes uncross y'know. ;)

It will be gorgeous like everything you do. And I'm tickled to pieces that you have enough fabric stashed that you can make this skort to your standards. I know it would frustrate you to no end if you had to fudge on details because you were a little short on fabric. :) Good going!!!!!

ROTFLOL!

Funnily enough, this was fabric I bought for her mother, probably twenty-or-more-years ago. ;-) I was indeed happy to find I wouldn't have to skimp, I love the challenge of matching plaids and other patterns. Do you remember that Pendleton shirt I entered in the OR state fair?

Every place that the plaids *could* be matched, they *were* matched: front placket, pocket, side seams, back yoke to back, collar and stand to yoke, sleeves -to-armseye, etc. And I made (guessing now) thirty or more of them for DH. And loved every one... Beverly
