Missing yoke piece - help needed

Aug 25, 2003 5 Replies

While tidying out my cupboard I found a half finished nightdress made from Style pattern 1425. Unfortunately the cut out yolk pieces are missing - and so are all the pattern pieces!! But I do have the instructions.

Strange, I know, but true :))

Does anyone have a copy of this pattern ( size MD) or any suggestions how I can work out the size of the yoke?

The front of the nightbress is pleated and the back has to be gathered to fit the yoke. I do have the neck pieces cut out in material.

I'm sure there's a logical way to work it out but I'm afraid I'm out of my depth.

Any help gratefully received - this project was started a number of years ago and for some reason I never finished it. I'd like to finally get it done now.

Thanks

Susan

If all else fails, you can blow up the cutting layout from the instructions on the copier until the yoke is about the right size. At least that will be a close approximation. Best of Luck, Laura

That's an idea but are the layout pieces drawn to scale?

50c at the copy shop will answer that for you. It's worth a try. Laura

The scale seems to be 1:20 - I don't think a copier will increase 20 times all in one go.

I've been trying to scale it up on TruGrid paper but the curves are a problem!

Thanks

You're not going to believe this but after I posted back last night I went to put away my box of patterns and something fell down. In moving things to sort out what fell I saw a white envelope stuck between the wall and something - I opened it and inside were - the patterns pieces :))))))))

Thanks for your help.

(BTW - the scaled up drawing was not quite the right size - a bit too big.)

Susan
