Polyester Silk

Apr 09, 2004 2 Replies

I am making a ball dress in black polyester silk and need to press the seams etc. What sort of setting should the iron be on steam or dry iron? Attempts so far using steam seems to leave a water mark and using it dry needs such a high heat to remove creases that I am afraid that it might scorch or mark.

Thanks for any info Mrs Tim

Try putting a damp hand towel over the seam and then pressing with a dry iron on a moderate (ie. the one less than wool) heat.
