Project Runway

I'm pretty sure this show has been discussed here before. Last night my DD called and encouraged me to take a look. They were having a Columbus Day marathon or something. So I watched four hours worth. No doubt these were mostly re-runs.

The one that had me falling off the chair laughing, was the challenge to make garment using newsprint. This, in honor of the "40th anniversary of the 'Paper Dresses' " of the late 60s. After I caught my breath, I had to call DD: BECAUSE I HAD ONE (or two) OF THE ORIGINALS! It was included in a magazine as I recall, and was a simple shift of silvery paper. I glammed it up a bit with silver sequins and wore it to a couple of holiday parties. Stylin'!

Beverly, I can't believe you actually got to wear one (or more) of these! The concept boggles my mind. I think one would have to have quite a good figure not to burst out. Did you like that incredible long coat with the crumpled lapel and cuffs on the show? I've long been a devotee of Project Runway but I don't always get to watch every episode. Pora

There once was a woman from Gaul, wore a newspaper dress to a ball, but the dress caught on fire, and burned her attire, front page, sporting section and all.

Somebody had to post it.

ROTFLOL! And it was family-friendly, unusual for Limericks.
