My daughter's sister-in-law bought a new Singer sewing machine a week or so ago (humph - she never even asked my opinion), and ended up returning it, and getting a Brother. She said the Singer was a mess, poorly constructed, and from her description, the bottom tension was way off and she couldn't get it adjusted. I did very well and refrained from any "I could have told you that's"
She's a beginner, and bought a very basic machine. I hope it does well for her, and she doesn't end up discouraged and quit.
