Pat, You sound like a Grammy after my own heart. This is exactly the reason I am so intent on getting another machine. I got so much joy from sewing for my daughter when she was little. She still remembers the little outfits and dolls and things I made her when she was young. She is now 32.
Just out of curiosity what kind of machine do yu use??

I have a Brother Pacesetter PC600 for all purpose sewing (like the skirt). A Brother 2002D embroidery machine, a Juki 5 thread serger, and a Babylock embellisher. Love them all. Would not take money for my Brothers.
I know.......it's not all metal, it has a computer, etc, etc,..............but it sews like a dream and there is absolutely no "quit" in that machine. Any kind of thread, and any kind of material is just fine with it.
