Hi all, A friend has asked me to make a swag valence that staples onto a wood board. The pattern she has only fits up to a 40 inch window. Her window is 57 inches wide. Do I just widen the width of the swag portion of the pattern by the difference?

Having made a lot of these, I'd suggest a different pattern. Most patterns advise 2 swags for windows that wide. Decorator fabrics are usually 54" wide and would require seaming (which certainly can be done). I have both McCall's and M'Fay and they both advise 2 swags.
