Tornado in SC

Last Tuesday a Cat 1 tornado with winds from 80 to 120 hit my home town and touched sown in my back yard to take out our huge oak tree and leave a mess that we hope to clear out with in a few more days. We had been in FL, but are now back in SC. Thankfully our house is undamaged. Just wanted to share! Barbara was in FL but back in SC for a few weeks

Glad you are Ok, and hopefully you are in fine fettle, ready to cope with the clear up.

Oh wow, sorry to hear this but are you ever lucky it didn't wipe out your house or kill anyone. Thankfully no injuries, just lots of aggravation dealing with the mess.

Thanks Joan. We have called all the people to check the roof of our house & buildings, and the company to cut up and haul off the tree. Don't know how long it will take, but we are thankful no one in all the town was hurt. Barbara

Barbara, I am so relieved to see that you didn't suffer any more damage than a mess and tree removal. Sorry about the oak tree, though!

Hello Barbara,

I'm a bit late... How fortunate that you weren't there, and how fortunate that it only hit the oak and not your house. Keep your chin up, and I'm sure that you'll be through with clearing the debris away long before Christmas.

U.

Thanks Ursula, The guys who check for damage came out to give an estimate of close to $2,500 to remove the tree, including everything ( Yep, it WAS a HUGE tree) ! Other men came out because we found shingles on the ground of the wood work shop, and also the house. The winds had hurled tree limbs through the roof and dome more damage than we had thought, and now we have plastic covering the house. A storm window was broken, as well as a patio table where we enjoy eating out. We are thankful we were not at home, and we are safe! All should be cleared next week. B
