Trouble with Juki serger

My serger....a Juki pearl line 655.....5 thread serger is acting up. It is a chain stitch looper problem.

Last time I used it I was overcasting, and the looper thread, which I had cut (as well as the looper needle thread) somehow wound a mile of thread around part of the looper threading mechanism. I carefully snipped and tweezered all of that out.

Today I tried to set it up to chain stitch and overcast. The looper would not stitch.....so I carefully rethreaded using the diagram. Then I hand walked it through a few stitches. The thread is catching on the cam(?) that pulls the thread through the tensioner.....it pulls the looper thread backward and wraps it around the shaft of the cam..........

Am I in terrible trouble???

Look again and be sure you got all the thread off the looper. Rethread again after changing the needle. May also be the knives are dull. Other than that looks like a trip to the shop. However the Juki is a sturdy machine and my guess is one of the simple things

Thanks Ron.......You have kept me from Panicing.........I will go down and take my time and try it again..........I just love the machine.
