Troubleshooting question

Can anyone steer me in the right direction? In the middle of an embroidery project, the top thread suddenly became entangled in the bobbin case creating a big thread ball mess. I cleaned everything out, but then it proceeded to do it again 3 more times! Needle seems okay, bobbin thread okay, nothing in bobbin case, top thread okay - I'm baffled! Thanks for any guidance you can offer. SM

When this has happened to me, it's because the top thread has jumped out of the tension assembly. Re-thread, making sure the presser foot is up while you're threading, then tug the thread back and forth through the assembly a little bit, to make sure it's set. If this doesn't help, you may have a piece of thread stuck in the upper tension assembly. Floss the upper thread paths with a thin ribbon or something like that.

Iris
