I for one have heard enough bad things about Joann's to never go there when I am south of the border. Would anyone want to go to Fabricland (Canada) if I said they are awful, and if lots of other people in western canada said the same? Probably not.

Would you eat apples if they were poison? NO, so why go to a fabric store that has a horrible reputation, same principle.

I think this might just boil down to "Mars vs Venus" "Mens vs Women" and not as in competition. I mean the way men and women think differently. Correct me if I am wrong, but with a name like Bill, I assume you are male?

Going with that presumption......... I don't know how men feel, but from observation its more of a first come first served attitude?

I know, as a woman........ we share. We like to share, it makes us feel good, even sharing with a stranger. I didn't see anything wrong with what Juno and the lady were doing. I thought it was a good idea. I didn't see it as unusual that they asked it to be measured to see if there was enough for both.

Personally I feel harassed that you can't just take this somewhere private instead of endlessly rehashing how your feelings are hurt, and how he thinks you're being a baby and how you feel people can't email you without your permission. I feel deeply & personally harassed--and I don't shop at joanns (or how ever it's spelled) and I don't know you or bill-what's-his-name. I just want to read about sewing.

Hopefully, this is my final post on this matter, which has gone on too long, for sure.

Heck, I didn't even post to the NG originally, she did, in response to my mail to her, and I responded in the NG only because she publicly attributed my email as being from JoAnn Fab., which was false, starting a new wave of anti-JoAnn sentiment, which is unfair..

I sent her one private email, just one, only one, just ONE. Juno went on for multiple posts about my invasion of her privacy. Couldn't see why so much fuss about 1 message.

So I'm thinking, are my posts going to her privately as well, beyond my intention, because she's gone ballistic on the subject? I then sent her a second email to ask if that was happening and to tell me please so I can correct it. The text of my message to Juno: ================================== What's all the fuss about, anyway? I sent you ONE email and you've been harping on it ever since like I'm invading your privacy with every post. All my subsequent writings have been to the NG.

Tell me if this isn't so, please, so I can correct it in future, although this thread has been worked over thoroughly and everyone has had their say.

Since Pogo asked, I'm here to read and comment exclusively on sewing matters brought up here : a quick sort on my name will bear that out.

As far as inviting me elsewhere, Pogo should follow her own advice w.r.t. her own posts. A quick sort shows her comments on : kids today, fireplace parts, herbalife, real estate, tourist info, road cones, air fresheners, burned pans, bugbite remedies, etc. Please feel free to use some restraint in the future to keep the NG tidy.

Oh, well, if that is the case, then send an email to him and copy his postmaster and yours asking him definitively not to email you any more, and then if he does report him for harassment and if you're lucky he will get canned.

Melinda, who did this once to someone and they immediately complained to my postmaster that I was harassing them for telling them to stop sending me email, and the postmaster blew the guy off 57 ways from Sunday and blind-copied me on the whole thing for my amusement.

Pat, I have a similar experience with the store near me. It has been there as I can remember and is VERY pleasant to shop at. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and most have been there for as long as the store has....and they all know something about sewing and I've never had a bad experience there. In fact, a couple of months ago one spent at least 1/2 hour with me discussing pros and cons of the different fusible webs they have there....it was a very pleasant and enlightening discussion.
