Wedding Pictures [crossposted]

Thank you Beverly! The photos are great and I *really* like Karen's choice of gown!

'Crude' nuthin'! I think it's the beginning of a fine website: it's easy to navigate, I *love* the 'choose an interval feature', it's quick enough to load and is attractive enough, even though I'm sure you'd want to 'tailor' it a bit (Oo! I punned!) later on! Now, when do we get to see more pictures? Please? Is the gown finished, or are you still working on it????

Thanks again for sharing! This is the sort of thing that helps the quailing heart (like mine) to think they could, perhaps, make a wedding gown if they had to...

It's really crude, my first attempt at web publishing, I just don't have time right now to learn all the bells and whistles. Click on "photos".

Thanks, I am afraid the pictures aren't very good. They are film pictures I scanned. My DD the graphics artist informs me that they are fuzzy. Ah, well, the new digital camera should make things better, as well as more immediate.

daughter so

The really nice thing is, she knows she's lucky, too. And tells me, often. :-)

We are having a great time making plans for her wedding.

Thanks! For now, that's going to be engraved in stone around here. ;-) I just don't have time to go down the software learning curve until after the wedding.

Wow. The dress is exquisite. Loved your dress too. Can't wait to show my daughter (age 6) in the morning - she loves dresses that make people look like a princess. The web site is great - let us know when you have more photos.

I didn't notice any fuzziness, but one DS tells me the photos I've scanned for him & his family are not so clear but the digital camera took care of that. Emily

I added some pictures I took with my new camera, but I still have to master the focusing. Some of the problem may be with the re-sizing I did to make them fit the web site.

A lovely thorough job of documenting the process. A pleasure to look at. You've done a a great job on the web site and the amazing dresses. :)

May I ask- how many fittings do you do for this kind of ultra-complicated, ultra-important formalwear?

Thanks, I have really been enjoying the whole process (sewing and web-site-building).

Well, DD the bride lives nearby, and comes often. She works swing shift and comes by here before work several times a week. We have had numerous fitting sessions, brainstorming where the beading should go, how the lace should be applied to the hem, ....

For the attendants, I _require_ at least three sessions: 1. Measuring and style consultation. 2. First muslin fitting. 3. Final fitting, and hem marking.

If the first muslin needs major overhaul, I ask for a second muslin fitting session. And if any major changes are requested by the woman, as many more as are needed to make us both happy.

For a bridal gown, I would probably add at least two additional sessions at a bare minimum.

I am doing these gratis for my much-loved younger daughter, so all involved are very co-operative. If I were doing it for a customer, I would accommodate her schedule to the best of my ability. I am a type-A, 'nuff said. ;-}
