Just got back form DGD's, she is going to make Vogue 8571 her June promotion-from-middle-school ceremony.However, she wants the back neckline a little lower, and she wants to "Anthonyize" (if you watch Project Runway you'll get the reference with some sort of pleated or twisted ("NOT gathered or a ruffle, please Grandma") trim around the neckline band.Today, we altered the pattern back neckline and made up a muslin, just from the waist up. There will be some tweaking to the way the neck band fits, but so far so good. She chose a gorgeous deep teal green for the skirt and bodice and black for the trim, both in a silky poly/spandex knit. I left her with the muslin on her dress form so she can play around with creating the look she wants for the "Custom Anthony Trim". I think we are just going to use the narrow rolled serger hem on the trim strips to reduce the bulk in the band seam.I had to rush back to be here before the tilers came, but we'll work on it more this weekend. She is unbelievable apt! Pays close attention and follows directions well. What a pleasure it is to work with her. We talked a bit about her plans this summer, we decided on several more teaching/sewing sessions. ;-)

James reminds of my eldest DGS, who was 6'7" and very muscularly built as well, at age 18. He has more or less maintained the same height & weight since then, that's 7-years. His Dad is about 5'9", areound 175 and his Mom is about my size, a Misses size 18-20; however his older half-brother, his Dad's older DS is 6'8'' and is built "like a tank", or did when I saw him some 8-years ago.
