I've been reading vague references to Twinkling H20 in the different groups and I'm wondering what they look like and how they're used. Do they look like, and are they used like Radiant Pearls?

I used them in a class yesterday. The end affect is like radiant pearls. Twinkling H20's are a solid. You very lightly moisten your paintbrush, pick up some color from the palette and apply to your paper.

I saw some demo'd at Enchanted Cottage on Saturday. They're really lovely! I haven't used Radiant Pearls much, but they seem to be more "creamy" or solid and the effects are really, really lovely. The lady doing the demo said something about being able to mix the solid colors with interference colors for a whole new look.

I'm looking forward to trying htem out myself. I just wish you could buy them by the color instead of in sets.

Could you or someone describe what makes them so special? Do they look shimmery like Radiant Pearls? How are they different? TIA

These are shimmery like radiant pearls, but they work similar to watercolors. They come in little pots but are hard like water colors. You wet your brush and pick up some pigment, and use it the same way. They dry by evaporation too, unlike radiant pearls, which dry by absorption. They are really pretty. kim

Thanks for your description, Kim. They sound lovely. Right now I'm having fun playing with my Peerless watercolors that come on little sheets of paper. They're not shimmery, but I like the watercolor effect.

You can add a little Powdered Pearls to those, while you're mixing them around on your brush, and they'll shimmer, too! Or a little iridescent medium, that works, too. Golden makes one and so does Winsor & Newton.
