Question: sewing chiffon problem

May 07, 2005 1 Replies

I've been trying to sew chiffon and am having a problem with the fabric being pulled to the left. It seems that the thread pulls it that way, but it could be the feed dog. This is especially a problem in sewing a baby hem at the corners, since there is nothing to hold onto in back.

Can anyone advise on how to fix or lessen the pulling?

Thank you!

Sorry to be so slow in responding--you've probably finished the project by this time. :-( Anyway, you might put a larger piece of tissue paper underneath, to act as a stabilizer and give you something to hang onto at the corners. It would help to prevent the feed dogs from pulling the fabric and can easily be torn free after sewing.
