Am newbie. Couldn't understand threading when looking at it (as it was when purchased). I unthreaded it, planning to use the Instruction manual to thread it from scratch. Manual is apparently inaccuracte (or incomplete). Anyone whose conquered this Sewing Genie problem, please respond.
Page 2 - Threading the upper thread for sewing - instruction # 4:
...insert thread through wire loop...
There is no wire loop. I presumed that this is a loop formed by the metal at the base of the needle clamp (just above the presser foot).
Page 3 - Raise the Bottom Bobbin Thread - instruction # 3:
...open up the loop...
Unclear, once the bobbin thread is pulled up, whether the loop should be totally opened so that top thread and bobbin thread are completely separated. I assumed that separation is intended.
Problem: Before I try to mend a seam, I make sure that the top thread has 8" thread extending out the back (metal loop). Even so, when I turn on the power for a few seconds, the 8" is pulled back through the metal loop, and then back through the eye of the needle. Thus the top thread is unthreaded and knots form instead of a stitch.
I know there's a way to do it, because when I first bought it, it worked. It's just that the instruction manual is no help, and I lack the intuition to make the right guess as to how to thread it.
