A/C vacuum pump thread - thanks and a comment or two

Thanks to all that posted to my thread a few days ago. I got a lot of great information and was really surprised at all the help.

I am posting this under a new topic as I wanted to make sure that those who took the time to post and advise knew that I appreciated their effort. I think too many times that one of these threads just seems to go away and no one knows what happened to the original poster. Since it was a few days back, I didn't want folks to think it was an idle question on my part that I didn't follow up on.

I also wanted to comment quickly to all about how nice it is to have a civil, < unmoderated > group. I participate on several different usenet newgroups and for the most part have lost interest in all of them. The snotty remarks, the know-it-alls, the cute remarks and witty replies dominate the postings.

I have lurked and participated for years here and I think that this is the most unique newsgroup out there.

Thanks again.

Robert

Robert, I'm glad the replies were useful. Like you, I think this group is very special. I only subscribe to two usenets groups. The other, alt.coffee, is equal in nature to this one. There aren't many, that's for sure. Dan

Dan:

I am a fan of alt.coffee also, and I got started on that slippery slope over there before I could save myself. I roast every three days, I buy too many green beans, and I give roasted coffee for presents. I have some neat equipment including a LaPavoni ZIP and a couple of older espresso machines, but man those guys are fanatics. I have never seen any group relish the minute details of all things espresso like they do.

I am mainly a coffee drinker/roaster/addict, so when they turned to mostly espresso talk I don't really go over there much except to read the last couple of week's posts. Nice group of folks, though.
