(almost) Free grinder!

I was going to order wheels for my grinder and came across a great deal..

The Woodcraft slow speed grinder has gotten good reviews here and in the wRECk, so I thought I'd take a look at it while I was ordering the wheels.. (The wheels are about $32 each) It's on sale for $80... reduced from $95... Damn, spend an extra $15 for the wheels and it's shipped with a grinder..

Then today I got a coupon offer from Woodcraft... $15 off on any order over $50.. HMMMMMM.. FREE GRINDER!

Anyway, I ordered one... If you're interested in this deal, enter 82008 for the coupon code when you add the grinder to the shopping cart..

> Both sale and coupon expire Aug. 31st... Thanks for the post, Mac. I have two of those grinders, and the second one was purchased when they had them for $80 + tax a few years ago. I bought the second grinder for the same reason you did, it was like getting a really inexpensive grinder (I didn't do as well as you did!) that as a bonus with the wheels. Then I realized... I still didn't have wheels, and I needed them, which is the reason I was looking to begin with.

Since I had a working grinder with new wheels on it, I was able to sit on EBAY and wait until I finally won a bid for wheels that was really, really cheap. It took a month or so, but I wasn't in a rush.

I gonna check my wheels tomorrow and see if I need another grinder!!

Glad that I could help, sir...

In my case, I have a very good grinder, at least my wife does, a Foley with better bearings than most tools that I own.. \My problem is that it is high speed and made to work well with 3/4" wheels, which I took off to use the 1" wide white wheels.. It was a disaster, because to use 1" wheels, I had to go without the backing washers and that caused wobble..

When I get the Woodcraft grinder with what were going to be the replacement wheels for her Foley, they'll stay on the new grinder and be used for lathe tools.. Sort of a PITA, because my sharpening jig and after market tool rest will go on the new grinder.. I'll put her old gray wheels back on her Foley, which will make her happy, so it's a win-win, for sure..
