Attic drying of green turnings

Placed bowls with wet turnings (saw dust) put in paper bags. Is the dry attic a good place for them to dry out or would an out door shed be preferable?

I wouldn't... at least not where/when the attic turns into an oven. I'm guessing it would cook the wood way to hot/fast. That being said, I do store -almost- dry wood there. But I put it there in the fall, just before the RH goes way up and leave it there until I need it. Most of my wood is in a shed, with a roof and surrounded by trees

I second everything Ralph said. If I put any wood in my attic it would be the equivalent of high heat kiln drying.\

The only thing I do different is when I turn something green and bag it for later use, I put it -under- my shop. It's on a pier and beam foundation so I can toss the bag with the rough out under it and let it go until later.
