Whatever you buy, make sure that it is suitable for the amount of use you intend. I bought a 'hobby' lathe here in the UK. I used it 2-3 hours a day as it is a hobby. When it stopped working and told the suppliers how much I had used it, I was told that a 'Hobby lathe' is only suitable for 2 hours a week and as such, the warranty was invalid. That was from a good and well known firm and without too much arguing, they gave me a refund, but it is worth looking at the small print in the company's/lathe's specs.
