Dust collection

Still haven't found the right fit, for me, for dust collection in my used to be single car garage. My prime interest now is turning so that is the dust I want to collect. I've got a squirrel cage filter, does not bad a job, got a fan in the window for the summer, works great but hard to turn in a parka so don't use it in the winter. Tried a battery operated face mask fan, didn't like it. Looked at a big Oneida system but considered it too much for my needs. Just got this from Oneida and it looks pretty good, price is right and drive to Syracuse isn't that far. Wondering if anyone has it and if so how has it operated.

I have had a large Oneida system for about 10 years and I continue to be very pleased with it. The unit you are looking at was not available way back then, but had it been I sure would have taken a hard look at it. The

1405 CFM is very impressive! I would think that if all you are doing is turning then you should take a hard look at this unit.

How about the white version of what I have in Delta blue?

Goes to a dryer vent that attaches with rare earth magnets to the appropriate side of the lathe bed. Outside for outside sanding, inside for inside. Seems to do a great job. Not as classy, of course, but with the can on a dolly you can use it on the tool you're using elsewhere in the shop,

Was mounted on the wrong side for the task, but I learned.

If you are turning, primarily, try this. Catch the large HF DC on sale for $169.00, order a 20" "Shaker Felt" bag from Highland Hardware, line the collection bag with a 39 gallon plastic bag. You will have a nice, honest

575CFM DC for less than $200.00. If you want more through put, you can double the filter bag and get about 1100 - 1150 CFM. If you are interested in the latter, drop me a line.

Also, schedule 40 PVC makes great runs and the Tool Crib has the best price on flex hosing.
