I got hooked on woodturning a few months ago when I purchased an antique = Boice-Crane (abt 1930) benchtop lathe from Ebay. After a bit of research = I purchased the 1642 Jet and couldn't be happier. I'm not an experienced = woodturner, but I've been around tools all my life. The fit and finish = was very good, head and tail stocks lined up perfectly, at about 400 = pounds+ it seems very stable. I love the variable speed and reversing = capability. The packing crate was damaged, but the contents were in = perfect condition. I assembled everything by myself.=20

I hope you get a few more opinions from the group.
