Some time ago I saw a description of a log cutting jig for a bandsaw. The jig was made from plumbing pipe and wood. I have Googled for about 2 hours with no success. Can anyone help me out please by pointing me in the right direction?

FWW has one with, I believe pipe clamps if you're a subscriber. Someday I'll have the SiL, who's a metal guy make me a set of dogs like they use in commercial sawmills. That's the best and surest way to do it.
Otherwise, get yourself some bench dogs and grind them to work with your choice of fences.
