I have been turning bowls on my Delta for years now but have been limited by the 12" swing. I am considering swiveling the headstock and utilizing a floor stand toolrest. One is available from Delta but I'm wondering if anyone has a better design for a shop-built version.

Better if you can hard mount your toolrest to the same stand as the lathe so it goes in the direction of the bounce.
I'm a 46-204, and have turned with both floor and stand-mounted. Like the stand better.
