Replacement handwheel for Delta 12" lathe

I'm taking a turning class through a local non-profit. The lathe I'm using is a Delta 12" variable speed floor model (46-701). The only thing I don't like about it is that the tailstock has no handwheel. Whenever it needs to be tightened, we have to grab pair of pliers. I'd like to help the place (and myself) out and try to find a replacement handwheel. I've located the part number on the Delta web site, but before I call Delta and go through trying to get one mail ordred, I'm wondering if anyone has this lathe and can tell me if there is anything special about the handwheel. It would be lots easier for me to stop into the local McMaster-Carr warehouse and just pick one up, it something standard could be used. Any details that anyone can give me on the handwheel would be appreciated.

THe outboard side should be reverse threaded. You can use a 6" face plate which is threaded both regular and reverse. Attach a nice piece of wood and turn it smooth. Instant handwheel & cheap.
