One spare available

Hello all,

I recently ran a number of Longworth-style chucks and plate sets out of 11ga stainless steel, and somewhere along the line, I got two orders confused and ran a set with the "wrong" holes in it. It was supposed to be for a 2" faceplate, and I made it to fit a 2.5" faceplate.

Hoping to make it work, I drilled the holes manually, but I felt that the runout was more than I was willing to send out, so I replaced the plates on that chuck.

So, now I have one extra set. It is two 12" diameter 11ga stainless steel Longworth plates with eight slots. The true holes are cut to fit a 2.5" diameter "True Turn" faceplate (made by "Don Pencil", and availible from a number of turning suppliers,) more specifically for a

2.5" diameter faceplate with a 1.25" x 8 tpi spindle.

While I'm sure I can find a use for it somewhere along the line, I don't have anything in particular in mind for these, so I figured I'd see if anyone here is interested in purchasing them.

The original deal was for $75 for a set of 12" plates, but since these have pre-cut holes, four of which have no use (unless you have a 2" faceplace and are willing to accept a runout of about 1/16") and I will not be offering any options regarding their placement, I am willing to let them go for $50, which will just cover the cost of the material. With shipping in the US, the total would be $58.10.

If you have the right faceplate, they should be perfect. Or, if you're willing to take a lot of time and care in drilling new holes to fit your existing faceplate, they could work like that as well.

There's only one, so whoever yells first (if anyone does) gets them. E-mail me at prometheus charter.net if interested.

This is the faceplate the plates were cut for:

A 2.5" faceplate with a different spindle size by the same manufacturer might work fine- but I can't make any guarantees on that. Best bet would be to e-mail the guy directly to check-
