Please Help With Saw Choice

Thanks George for taking the time to point me in the right direction. My next project is to make a jig and fixture as shown in two http. I am a little concern about the age of my Rockwell/Beaver bandsaw. At the end I may buy a new band saw with better guides and table.

Get the ceramic guides and use 3/8 or wider blades, and you'll love it, especially with the circle jig taking a lot of the feed force away.

Not that I'd ever turn down a new tool, you understand....

Thanks for your feedback. I found the idea of "hang a cable from the ceiling to the right of your bandsaw, and put an eye-bolt in your circle template" interesting. My Rockwell/Beaver bandsaw has served me well over the years in making furniture. Now its outdated and I have problem finding replacement tires. Its time for me to look around for a replacement. I rather invest in a better lathe than a 18" band saw. On the other hand by using the proper table arrangement, jigs and fixtures a 14"/15" bandsaw with the riser kit could satisfy my need.
