Problem with Centers of Solid Segmented Rings

Which is why it's NOT glued yet. I may lop off the pointy ends before gluing, and use a plug.

And actually, I slipped an index card under one edge of my jig to cut the center wedges, so that the inner points are *slightly* undersized. This was with the hope that the swelling might be compensated for.

I'm just too chicken to commit...

Actually, I had thought of a similar idea. Using colored epoxies to fill the gaps to give a veneer stripe look to the item. Instead of a

1/16" wafer of veneer glued to each wedge, use a colored epoxy.

Well, it sounded like a good idea at the time, but the implementation would probably be a real PITA...

Maybe a new jig...
