The logs that sank : have been submerged for periods of up to or over 100 years. Apparently : the sumersion has changed the characteristics of the wood and it is in : high demand.



Or so the harvresters would have you believe. I've seen photos of some of this wood, and it's not significantly different (visually, anyway) from the very good recently harvested stuff you can get from premium dealers, at a *much* lower price. I suspect the "value" of this harvested wood is in the telling of the tale, so to speak. I can see people with way too much money using this stuff for flooring in their neo-mansions, so as to impress the visitors.
