The Stitchery, Floor Stands and Canada

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows as to whether The Stitchery delivers outside the continental US to Canada. I got their catalogue about 4-5 years ago and when I tried last year to request one I never received it. (Tried 3 or 4 times). Never saw one. Anyway also if anyone here has ever dealt with them from Canada can you let me know what the service was like? I generally order throught the Cross Stitch Cupboard in Ottawa but saw this catalogue and thought I would try reordering it again. Sent them an email and am waiting on their response.

Also any ideas on Floor Stands. I use predominantly Q-Snaps and notice that a number of them only use scroll frames (unless there is an adaptor of some sort for them). Cross Stitch cupboard has one but it is metal called the System 4 Floor stand but it again requires an adaptor for QSnaps, the only piece they don't sell it seems. I would like a source in Canada if possible but am willing to look at the US if required. Thanks for your help.

I have the Mark ll from Hearthside Craftworks and love it! You can purchase their brackets that hold Q-Snaps on two sides which is a nice feature. Also their unique Flip Frame makes turning to the backside so easy as compared to most other stands. They are a Canadian company based in Calgary and give exceptional customer service.

And into your stand, even better than Q-snaps is our own Fred Stitchit's frames. I bought one in Winnipeg when I met Fred and when the stitchers at my Guild saw them, we sent in an order to Fred.

Lovely wood and beautifully made, does all the right things stitchers want because of course, Fred stitches too.

My Gazelle 'loves' my Q-Snaps. :-) Just got finished using it while stitching on "Tradewinds". It's built, I believe, by Artisan Designs:

I'll second both. I don't have a Mark II yet but I've had meaningful dialogue with the man who makes them, and he's willing to make whatever adaptations needed to make it work with my furniture. His wife stitches, so this is something made to "do all the right things stitchers want" because his wife had input into the design. Unlike my cheap raw wood floor stand, the Mark II is a beautiful piece of furniture with a nice finish that will impress your visitors.

I do have two sizes of Fred's Stitchaways, and whenever I show them to a woodworker, they get oohs and ahs for the wonderful craftsmanship. The wood is satin smooth, the corner joints are perfectly flat, and the slider bar slides easily.

As you mentioned, the Needlework System 4 absolutely DOES have a clamp for QSnaps. Actually, to be acurate, no matter what fabric holder you went with, you'd have to buy an adaptor for it, as the stand is sold separately from the other pieces (the frame holder, the QSnap holder, etc.)

Your LNS (or online version) should be able to order the QSnap holder directly from the manufacturer.

I have a System 4 with the Scroll Rod attachment and I ADORE it. It's perfect!

I'm a fan of the GripIt, which can fit everything from the thinnest hoops to the thickest scroll bars/QSnaps/stretcher bars, etc. It's got a sturdy base and a few points of adjustment. It isn't fancy, but it's durable and an all around good product.
