I require a speed changer for a Shopsmith ER Are they still available in the U.S.? And can anyone help. Regards Alan

The ER model can still be found in the wild, but has not been made for over 50 years. They do hold up well ;-)

The current model is based off the model that came out ~50 years ago, the Mark V, which pretty well replaced the ER. 50 year old Mark V's you can still get parts for from the current company, ERs are not supported, as far as I know.

Try Battles hardware in Whittier Ca they specialize in used shopsmiths and reclaimed parts

I bought a mark V Model 520 at a garage sale. I own a Chevy Lumina APV van. Not too large. Took the rails and motor apart from the frame. By doing that, it fit in the van nicely. I also got the dust collector, mucho accessories and 80 bf of red oak. All for 1000.00. Kept it for three years before I decided that I needed separate tools more. Sold it, without the wood and some of the accessories I could use with my new equipment. Got 900.00 for it. I think I got ahead on both ends. The biggest problem I had was that it was always in the way in my "small" shop (9' X 10')
