stearate sanding discs?

Klingspor has zinc stearate treated hook&loop sanding discs for almost

50% cheaper than "regular" discs--seems to me I remember hearing that stearate causes problems with certain finishes (lacquer?).

Anyone else hear this?

Soap? Don't think so. I suppose an alcohol wash would eliminate all doubt. I've never had the problem. Now silicone....

Interesting that they are cheaper. As far as problems with finishes, in the "old days" they did cause problems with early generations of waterborne finishes.
