String Steady Rests

Oct 08, 2003 2 Replies

I'm attempting to turn semi long, very skinny pieces and maybe attempt a wobbler. I remember somewhere someone had plans for making string steady rests to be able to hold real skinny spindle type turnings (1/16th to 1/8th inch). One eigth seems the practicle limit right now and not very long. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance folks!!! Guy

Hi Guy, Mike Darlows 2nd book shows string steadys. I believe it's called Woodturning Methods.
