i might turn the adjustable part of the support instead of using a square piece
then top the round support with a square cap to allow for movement of the music holder
looks like the swinging holder is prevented from falling back or forward by hitting up against the square support
i might add an adjustment knob or lever for the swinging holder just to allow for more degrees of freedom
