Tool rests

Hello, I have about 12 feet of one inch steel rod and would like to make some T-bar style rests. I live pretty close to Louisville, Kentucky. Does anyone have a welder and can weld? I can bring the rod and my chop saw over and we can make some rests for each of us. Take it easy, Guy

I have one with a 6" leg and a 4" leg, made of 1" round. I can use either leg as the rest, with the other leg inserted into the banjo. It is very handy, and I find I use it more than my stock 12" toolrest.
